LEARN TO PERFORM THE FUN WAY!

For ages 9 and up * No experience necessary

No registration fee, no ticket purchase requirements

Our goal is to make theatre accessible to students. Performing in school plays or musicals is such a wonderful experience, but most schools/programs only put on a few shows a year, and participation is limited.

At the Gulf Coast School of Music, we want to give young actors the chance to shine as much as possible by giving them the opportunity to perform throughout the year in scenes programs with their peers. We believe everyone who shows an interest in drama or musical theatre should have the chance to participate and have fun.

The actors will get the chance to perform monologues, duet acting scenes, or small group musical scenes, which will give each student the opportunity to shine in his or her own scenes. The scenes programs will have weekly lessons/rehearsals where the actors will get time with the director to choreograph, block, perfect, and perform their scenes.

We will also put on group musical numbers and one act plays. This way, everyone will get the opportunity to play a leading role in their individual scenes, as well as learn about connecting with a cast by performing in the one act plays and group musical scenes. And perhaps most importantly, we will all have fun!

Our drama/musical theatre instructor is Destiny Howard, who has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from UWF and years of experience singing and performing in opera and musical theatre scenes programs, as well as playing the lead in several productions of the Tate High School drama program. She is excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for singing and performing with her students.
